Today I’m out at a home in Flagstaff Hill helping with a few office 365 issues as well as setting up some new email accounts. The were also having a lot of issues getting good wifi range on the top floor of their double storey home which I was able to fix by supplying them with a new powerline adapters + access point combo.

This morning I was at a business in Richmond helping out the general manager with a full SSD on his laptop. After finding a whole lot of junk windows 10 left behind after its upgrade from Windows 8.1 as well as a whole lot of duplicate photos – I was able to get the laptop free space on the C drive back to healthy limits. I also helped with a few Office365 account issues and once that was sorted, they were back in business 100%!

Today I’m repairing an old pc with Windows 7 installed that has a dying SSD. Basically the pc would run fine and quite fast (when it worked) and then other times would not boot up at all. I was able to diagnose the SSD as dying using the SSD Life app which showed it was very much on the way out. As the SSD was a very small 60gb model it had been used to capacity for most of its life and had died and early death. SSD’s don’t like running at capacity one bit. Thankfully I was able to clone the dying SSD onto a new unit and repair Windows 7 without any data loss 🙂

Today I was helping staff and students at a school in Aberfoyle Park with all of the various day to day issues that arise in a technology driven learning environment. From dying laptops, corrupt USB drive recovery, printer setup, speaker installations, wifi access point configuration, CCTV security management and mobile classroom teleconferencing systems… there’s always something to do!

A nice lady from Old Reynella called me up saying her desktop computer was having trouble connecting to the internet. Sometimes it would work fine an other times it would just sit there on a web page with the spinning wheel and no progress despite the icon on the taskbar saying it had a solid connection to the net. I was able to diagnose her problem to be a faulty network adapter in her pc and was able to give her an easy and fast solution by providing her with a USB wifi adapter rather than go through the lengthy process of repairing her motherboard. She also needed some help setting up a new chromecast  device on her TV which I was more than happy to help with and had her sorted in no time.
