Aberfoyle Park Onsite computer repair and support : helping school staff and students

Today I get the pleasure of helping out at a great school in Aberfoyle Park with all of their computer and network problems. It’s great to be part of a progressive environment that has such a strong focus on technology and its application to learning and communication for both students and staff. Never a dull day here with always plenty to do 🙂

Marion Onsite computer repairs and support : SSD upgrade for very slow desktop pc

A lady contacted me saying her home desktop pc was running very slow and was taking forever to run programs and basically do anything on the pc.
I had a look at her pc and the cpu, RAM and motherboard all checked out as ok and were all quite high spec however her hard disk was a mechanical type and I knew this was the culprit for her speed issues.
I supplied her with a 240gb high speed SSD and then repathed all of her personal data to point to the original mechanical drive essentially giving her the best of both worlds – speed and lots of storage. The pc now boots up in under 20 seconds and programs come up in an instant after clicking the icon. An SSD upgrade really is one if the best upgrades you can do to speed up a slow PC or laptop.
