Another customer called me today about a problem they were having with their printer not scanning to their main PC over the network. Sometimes it would work but other times it wouldn’t show the destination PC and fail at scanning completely. I could have dug into the network settings and spent an hour or so trying things like a static IP etc but instead I decided to simply supply them with a 5m USB cable and connect their PC to the printer that way. Once the USB cable connection was setup and connected to the printer they were good to go without any more odd dropouts or network problems. Sometimes the easy way is the best way!
