A car restoration business in Lonsdale called me today saying they couldn’t get into Windows after booting up. Basically the PC would boot to the login screen for Windows 10 but it wouldn’t display the login or password to go any further. I rebooted a few times and interrupted the boot process intentionally to trigger the safe mode options and was able to run a system restore to a point from last week which allowed me to log back in. I then ran a malware scan and found a few of those “driver update” programs that cause nothing but trouble. After a good tuneup and removing any junk that wasn’t meant to be in the startup she was back up and running and firing on all cylinders 🙂
