4.1          The duties of the Permit Committee shall be:

                1              to grant, refuse or defer any application for a permit to play;

                2              to determine the grade in which a team or player may play; and

                3              other duties as directed by the Executive Committee.

4.2                In determining the grade in which a replacement player may play, the Permit Committee should only grant permission where, in their opinion, the replacement is not of a significantly higher standard than the person being replaced, in all grades.

Any breach of the above conditions as determined by the Permit Committee may result in forfeiture of the rubbers of the players of the teams guilty of the infringement.

4.3                When a registration form with fee attached is forwarded for a player who does not have a permit, the Permit Committee must advise the club of the permit status for that player within 7 days from the receipt of the form.

ARRANGEMENT OF PLAY

10.2        In the Spring competition teams shall consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four players of any sex:

                1              matches shall comprise eleven rubbers of best of five games of eleven with advantage to be played if ten all;

                2              nine rubbers shall be singles and two rubbers shall be doubles;

                3              in singles events each of the three singles players listed in the home team shall play each of the three singles players listed in the visiting team;

                4              two doubles combinations shall be formed in each team:

                                1              no one distinct pair may play twice within the same match;

                5              all players must be listed prior to commencement of the match, this includes the doubles;

                6              rubbers shall be played in order as set out on the Score Sheet unless mutually agreed to by both captains;

7                     no table shall be vacant for a period greater than five minutes if there is the possibility of another game proceeding; and,

8                     where a fourth player is played by a team, that player must play in the two doubles rubbers.

FINALS

11.2        In the Spring competition a preliminary final shall be played between the second and third placed teams at the end of the minor round, with the loser assuming third place.

                1              The winner of the preliminary final shall play the first placed team at the end of the minor round in the grand final, with the winner assuming first place and the premiership and the loser assuming second place (i.e. Runners Up).

11.3        In all finals matches the higher team shall be regarded as the home team and the lower team as the visiting team.

11.4        All teams who consider they will be in the finals shall at least seven days prior to the end of the minor round supply the Result Steward with a list of players required in the finals in accordance with Bylaw 6.1.4.

11.6        In the Spring competition a player shall have participated in a total of four matches in that grade and / or in a lower grade to be eligible to participate in any finals matches.  Where a bye occurs in a grade, a player shall have participated in three matches in that grade and / or in a lower grade to be eligible to participate in any finals matches.

11.7        Any player not meeting the requirements of Bylaw 11.5 or 11.6 will not be eligible to play in finals.

11.8        Teams may play players from lower grades as reserves in finals.

                1              Should any player play in a higher grade under Bylaw 11.8 they shall not be permitted to play any finals match in a lower grade except with the written approval of the Permit Committee.

11.9        For the purposes of Bylaws 11.5 and 11.6 "participated" is deemed to include playing in any permissible combinations of singles and/or doubles rubbers.

12            BALLS

12.1        Only balls approved by TTSA and/or the Executive Committee of the CCTTA may be used in matches of the Association.

12.2        The home team shall supply new balls for each match of the minor round in the Winter competition.

12.3        The home team shall supply one new ball for each match of the minor round in the Spring competition.

                1              Where a second ball is a used ball it shall be in reasonable condition and acceptable to both captains.

                2              Non-acceptance of the used ball shall not necessarily invalidate the match.

12.4        In all finals matches each team shall supply a new ball.
