A business in Seaford just recently had their workshop rebuilt and needed their CCTV security system setup to allow monitoring on their desktop computers as well as the owners iPhone while he’s not onsite. I tested the system and found out that the DVR wasn’t connected to the local network (no ping response) so started to investigate. After checking the cabling I found a loose CAT6 cable that had been damaged during the building phase. After putting a new end on the cable I was able to see the DVR on the network so I proceeded to setup the port forwards on the modem and dynamic dns settings to allow for local and remote monitoring. They’re now back in business with peace of mind knowing their security system is working as it should.
