A business customer from Seaford contacted me saying that their network connection was dropping out on random intervals several times this week. I tested the network cabling as well as updated the drivers for the NIC but wasn’t able to find anything terribly suspicious or anything that made me think the cabling or the network card itself was at fault. So instead of persisting with the NIC or cabling I supplied them with a high speed wireless network adapter as their PC was only 4 or so meters from the modem. As 10 has no  utilising multiple network connections (wireless + LAN) I thought this would be a good way going forward to get them back in action as well as isolate whether it is indeed the cabling that’s at fault. In a nutshell, if the LAN drops out now – the wireless connection will seamlessly take precedence and keep them connected – and as soon as the LAN comes back online will automatically favour and switch back to that connection. Simple and effective.
