A nice lady contacted me saying the ACER laptop she had bought recently on special during the Christmas sales was running very and was performing a lot worse than she expected. She said it was heavily reduced and had a few concerns that the specs of the laptop were what was making it run so slowly. I had a good look at it and was able to tell her that the CPU was quite good, the RAM was decent but the 1TB Hard disk was a slow 5400rpm mechanical type and was undeniably the cause of the laptop being so slow to startup, shut down and general use in programs. I quoted her for a high speed SSD and told her that it would greatly improve the speed issues as the part that was holding the laptop was this standard mechanical hard disk. She agreed to go ahead and after the hardware was installed and the cloning process was complete the bootup time from completely powered off until the desktop was loaded went from 2 and half minutes to under 15 seconds. Now that’s a decent right there! The overall performance of the laptop in all areas was much, much better and it turned a fairly slow underperforming laptop into a fast and reliable workhorse that you would normally pay over $1300+ retail for. All up for the laptop on sale + upgrade she paid under $1000 total so as you can imagine she was wrapped 🙂
